The Assistant Director of Finance will be part of “A Seattle Collection “, a multi-property cluster comprised of Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle, is owned by the same ownership and managed by one Finance & Purchasing Team. This position is mainly responsible for the oversight of the Hyatt Olive 8’s general ledger and supports the Area Director of Finance within the cluster. The individual will support the Area Director of Finance in the monthly reporting process to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the business unit’s financial statements. This will include preparation of the monthly reports and key components of the financial information presented to the Leadership Committee team and Owner’s Representative each month. In addition, the individual will provide support to management, as well as, the various departments within the hotel throughout the forecast and budget process. Additionally, this person will be responsible for efficiently running the Finance department in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations.
Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports and reconciliations
Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist Area Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports
Assist Area Director of Finance with supervising Finance staff and functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training and evaluating performance of staff.
Manage and help oversee hotel on-site finance functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management
Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings and full P&L responsibility.
Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance
Assist Area Director of Finance with completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
Supports the hotel’s focus on service excellence by training to provide exceptional service to the hotel’s internal and external customers
Assist Area Director of Finance with special reporting and analysis projects

Qualifications:
Hospitality or Finance / Accounting degree preferred
2 years or more of progressive Finance / Accounting experience
Experience supervising team members
Prior MICROS/SIMPHONY, ADP/Enterprise, Kronos, and Hyatt systems (Oracle, Opera and PMS) expertise desired
Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills
