Responsibilities
Humana is seeking a Senior Finance Professional to join our Retail Service Operations Finance team. Successful candidates will be responsible for leading/assisting with budgeting, forecasting, financial and ad hoc reporting and interaction with others to achieve the organization’s goals. This person will facilitate a wide scope of financial operations in coordination with business operations partners.
Provide financial insights and make recommendations to support business decisions and develop effective strategies, with an overriding goal to create value for the company.
Work in a consultative role with various departments in creating effective reporting and analyses in order to improve processes, create efficiencies and proactively provide business partners data/metrics/cost information to identify and influence areas of financial / operational improvement.
Lead the month end close process including preparation/review of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
Report/Deliver financial performance versus budget and forecasts to operational leadership, connecting cost and operational metrics.
Collaborate with business partners in developing methods and criteria for measuring/summarizing financial data and preparing valuable analysis in a dynamic environment.
Maintain and review various system reconciliations between source systems and financial and operational reporting processes.
Support special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships.
Establish, foster and maintain working relationships with peers and management within Finance and Consumer and Provider Services and Solutions (CPSS).
Lead the forecast process including the development and maintenance of analytical tools to forecast and evaluate financial/operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
5 or more years experience in finance/accounting
Demonstrated experience financial modeling utilizing Excel
Experience with budgeting and financial analysis with the ability to support business operations partners
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong analytic skills with attention to details
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Previous health insurance industry experience
Experience with Power BI, Oracle and/or Hyperion Essbase or other relational databases
Location:
Humana Tower, Louisville, KY, hybrid workstyle, highly preferred or will consider remote if residing within the EST/CST time zone

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
