Description
Our purpose – Opening up a world of opportunity – explains why we exist. Here at HSBC we use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to open up new kinds of opportunity for our more than 40 million customers. We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager, ESG and Sustainable Finance Program, Finance Change Delivery.
The scope would cover taking the lead in identifying what and how Global Finance systems changes would need to be tailored for to meet the ESG (Enviromental Social and Governance) and Sustainable Finance Global Finance strategy, priorities and requirements. This includes gathering of business and data requirements, understanding changes to current processes and controls to design the data required to deliver the ESG book of work, aiming to facilitate the target operating models to enhance the ESG reporting capability in Global Finance. The role would manage the interlock with Global Lines of Businesses (GLoBs) and/or Global Functions (GFs) with Global Finance.
The role also aims to enable the ESG Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to keep track of the status of any of the ESG and Sustainable Finance related discussion or issues that would have an implication to Global Finance to meet its external Disclosure requirements and/or deliver the internal reporting and monitoring capability on ESG and Sustainable Finance related matters, from Global Finance’s Strategic Solution (Strategic Solution) over the Bank’s ESG reporting obligations and internal monitoring and reporting capability.
The potential impacts to finance systems would span along the end-to-end processes resulting from any of the ESG and Sustainable Finance related initiatives. For instance, any of the upstream business requirements changes leading to their upstream system changes, which would need to be considered in the Global finance processes and systems.
Here’s what you can expect:
The global ESG and Sustainable Finance Programme is a multi-year programme within Finance Change Delivery (FCD) to deliver the Global Finance Strategic Solution for ESG reporting obligations (and internal monitoring and reporting capability) for the bank. As a key member of the global ESG FCD team, this role will contribute to the transformation and delivery of the Strategic Solution covering ESG disclosure, regulatory and internal MI reporting onto the Cloud-based data and reporting solution as brought out by the Finance on The Cloud (FoTC) Programme. In particular, this role would lead and drive the end-to-end Strategic Solution development for the forthcoming US SEC requirements throughout the FoTC. It is essential to be familiar with the fundamentals of FoTC.
The role holder is expected to liaise with a large group of senior stakeholders across Global Finance, including ESG CFO team, business finance teams and GLoBs and GFs to gather ESG reporting metrics, translate such into detailed requirements for data, calculation and visualization/reporting components on FCDP, FCRP and FCVP. This will involve in depth review of what drive the requirements, regulatory or otherwise, and further aligning such with existing tactical solutions delivered by the ESG CFO and other GLoBs and GF teams locally and at Group level.
Strong collaboration is required with the Data & Compliance Value Stream within FCD and across FoTC teams as the person will manage and drive consistent data policy for the ESG Strategic Solution to comply with the FoTC Data Design principles and system architecture. This role will require continuous review with the Bank’s Sustainability Transformation Management Office (Sustainability TMO) to ensure interlock of our Strategic Solution and dependency with all GLoBs and GFs and communicate a clear view of Global Finance outcomes to the Group Executive Committee.
This role is a unique opportunity to work in an area of growing interest to regulators, investors, and the wider external market. Disclosure rules and regulation for ESG topics are evolving globally. There is a need to understand new and changing disclosure requirements, and how these can be best met through US and Group’s external reporting.
As the ESG disclosures have grown in prominence, there has been an increased need for robust assurance and oversight of disclosed ESG materials.
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $140,000 and $180,000
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
At HSBC, our overall goal is to provide a competitive Total Reward Package, with an appropriate mix of fixed pay, and variable pay, as part of an employee’s overall total compensation and benefits. Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a “bonus”). Additionally, HSBC offers a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle.
