Payroll Specialist 6200 Dutchmans Ln, Louisville, KY 40205 Payroll Specialist Position Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing of payroll in all company operations and provides guidance and assistance regarding employee payroll. The Payroll Specialist collects, calculates, verifies, inputs and processes all payroll for Hosparus Health. The Specialist serves as key educator by training all internal customers regarding payroll systems as well as problem solves by resolving internal payroll system issues. The Payroll Specialist participates in the development of new system processes as appropriate. Payroll Specialist Position Duties & Responsibilities: € Assists with payroll analysis, reconciling of general ledger accounts, and creating of on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end organizational journal entries and reports. € Directs the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data. € Reviews updates to payroll records related to job titles, wage changes, deposit/banking data, wage deductions, and department/site transfers. € Ensures timely issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts. € Guides organizational payroll efforts by suggesting improvements to policies and procedures. € Manages the preparation and submission of workers compensation, 401K, and 457B plan audits. € Prepares payroll and labor reports as needed. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal tax payroll laws. € Participates in annual financial audit and 990 tax preparation. € Processes employee expense reimbursements. € Answers employee questions, resolves issues, and investigates all payroll inquiries. Suggests opportunities for heightened employee experience. € Communicates payroll processes to employees; actively participates in orientation training sessions. € Works closely with HR and Finance staff to ensure employee status changes are synchronized and all payroll journal entries are properly recorded, and discrepancies resolved. € Reviews Ceridian Dayforce electronic timesheets for authorization, completeness and accuracy for pay cycle processing. € Ensures compliance of internal controls for all payroll processes. € Processes pre and post validation of payroll processing in accordance with departmental internal controls and standards. Payroll Specialist Position Qualifications: € Minimum three years of experience managing payroll. Experience working in healthcare setting preferred. € Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Payroll/HRIS systems. € Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure. € Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity. € Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. € High level of confidentiality.
