HERFF JONES, Operations Manager – Warwick, RI
Job Summary:
The operations Manager is responsible for managing and directing all internal manufacturing departments inclusive of fabrication, personalization, finishing, and shipping. The incumbent is accountable for safely delivering quality product on time to customers with optimal efficiency at the lowest possible cost. The Operations Manager will have the responsibility for meeting line objectives related to production KPI’s, safety, quality, personnel matters, and enforcement of company policy. This includes continuous improvement throughout the facility and development of individuals within their organization. You will be charged with introducing improved methods of manufacturing and ensuring that a training & development program is in place for both skilled craftsmen and managers. Working closely with customer service, finance, master scheduling and warranty service teams as well as sourcing/procurement to meet and exceed customer commitments using a global manufacturing model. Collaborating with engineering to develop and implement new ideas, processes, equipment, etc. to improve quality, shorten cycle times, and reduce costs will be essential.

Specific Responsibilities:
· Directly supervises and coordinates salaried supervisor roles including goal setting, evaluating performance, hiring, and terminating.
· Schedules and supervises manufacturing resources to meet production goals established by operations management in alignment with business goals and objectives.
· Attends daily Gemba walks with production floor leaders.
· Assures production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures to include environmental, quality control standards and safety compliance.
· Ensures a safe work environment is maintained or improved throughout the plant.
· Schedules staff and assigns duties to meet production needs.
· Develops and administers material and labor usage controls.
· Implements employee relations programs with the objective of improving employee engagement and morale.
· Participates in production equipment maintenance program (as needed) including evaluation of predictive maintenance data, scheduling PM activities.
· Maintains inventories of production supplies.
· Institute training and cross training programs.
· Ensure cost savings are realized when product shifts from internal mfg. to outsourced partners.
· Review poor quality/rejected products, develop & implement improved programs related to quality in conjunction with the quality organization.
· Work with area managers in solving problems related to process and/or quality.
· Ensure that all company standards are met before a product is shipped.
· Get personally involved with all special and overdue orders in plant.
· Work with all department heads to ensure positive work environment.
· Oversee all production, scheduling, and planning of all ring & emblematic manufacturing functions.
· Ensure that all personnel, policies, and practices are uniformly applied.
· Know all hazardous materials used in the area and the appropriate action to be taken in the event of exposure.

· Reduction in COPQ and Scrap
· Schedule obtainment
· Productivity rate goals- cost/unit and units/hour
· Meeting operating supply budgets
Candidate Preferences
· BS in manufacturing management, engineering, or business-related field.
· Equivalent experience in manufacturing/operations 8-10 years in progressive roles.
· American Production Inventory Control System (APICS) and or Six Sigma certification is preferred
· Experience in highly seasonal planning and manufacturing is preferred
· Well-organized, be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail
· Ability to interact with all employees through verbal and written communication, and to provide the leadership and direction needed to achieve Company goals & objectives.
· Ability to effectively interact with senior management at the plant level and corporate level.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to move freely throughout plant and office.
· Must have good vision.
· Must be able to lift mildly weighted objects (no more than 40 pounds).
· Must be able to handle the stress of everyday activity as well as that associated with heightened levels of operations, customer demands, and budgetary compliance demands.
