Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Treasury Programs Manager, under the supervision of the Vice President, Investments you will have responsibilities related to the investment accounting for the Company’s insurance subsidiaries and sponsored charitable entities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Investments of the Insurance Subsidiaries: The Company has three insurance subsidiaries that provide insurance coverage to Company subsidiaries that require insurance coverage medical malpractice, workers compensation and other coverages. These insurance subsidiaries collect premiums that must be invested. In this position, an understanding of marketable securities, related cash flows and market valuation techniques for fixed income and equity securities are an important competency. This position will interact with third party investment management relationships, custodial, auditors and provide leadership administering those relationships. In this role, an understanding of insurance investment accounting of GAAP and statutory financial statements is a necessary competency. This position, working with other personnel, must create and maintain daily transactional activity and monthly/quarterly/annual investment accounting records on behalf of the insurance subsidiaries utilizing investment accounting software and related reporting software tools.
Investments of sponsored charitable entities: The Company sponsors a private foundation committed to the care and improvement of human life. Investment gains from investments are a critical component for the Foundation to carry out its mission to contribute grants and matching gifts to agencies and organizations. The Board of Directors delegates certain responsibilities related to the investment of Foundation assets, ongoing fiduciary oversight and due diligence of those assets involving third party relationships with investment managers, custodians, auditors and consultants. This position will interact with third party investment management relationships, custodians and provide leadership administering those relationships. This position, working with other personnel, must create and maintain daily transactional activity and monthly/quarterly investment reporting records on behalf of the Board utilizing investment performance software and related reporting software tools.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelors Degree is required; Masters Degree is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role is preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience in accounting for marketable securities is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant is preferred
