Position Overview: As a Senior Financial Analyst on our Global COE Expense Finance team, you will hold a pivotal role as a financial liaison to various functional departments. Your primary responsibility will be to support the execution and delivery of our annual operating plan, quarterly forecasting, and monthly variance analysis. In this high exposure role, you will work closely with senior leadership, such as Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Care, and other G&A departments as necessary. By delivering insightful analyses, you will actively contribute to the decision-making process, thereby optimizing business profitability. We highly value proactive and innovative mindsets, and you will be encouraged to challenge existing practices while fostering a strong, positive relationship between Finance and our valued business partners.
This role is a Hybrid role located in our Charlotte, NC office working Monday through Thursday in office and from home or office on Friday. Preference will be given to candidates local to the Charlotte area.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key business partner to multiple functional departments, collaborating directly with VP and director-level functional leadership providing analytical insights and recommendations while ensuring accountability and accuracy for deliverables
- Provide crucial support in cost planning and budgeting during forecasting cycles, delivering insight-driven cost outlooks and forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Collaborate in the monthly review of cost performance with functional departments while leading the zero-based budget for your functional departments
- Assist in the preparation of presentations, reporting, and insights to optimize business performance and drive informed decision-making efforts while proactively identifying risks and opportunities
- Produce/distribute the expense variance analysis, by department, in accordance to reporting cycle to aid in KPI visibility and driving action-oriented processes
- Standardize/automate cost reporting and self-service tools to enable and empower functional teams to track, measure and manage their performance and progress proactively
- Lead the standardization and process documentation for Global Expense COE Finance team
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in effectively communicating with senior leadership, showcasing strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead without authority, influencing leadership decision-making
- Ability to set objectives aligned with organizational goals and meet internal customer demands effectively
- Quick learner when faced with new challenges, utilizing sound judgment and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and resolve issues efficiently
- A passion for challenging the status quo to drive change and cultivate innovation, while maintaining a comprehensive 360-degree perspective when approaching problems
- Preferred prior experience in FP&A roles with familiarity with developing PowerBI dashboards
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related analytical field; MBA a plus
- Demonstrated experience of 6+ years in an analytical role
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products, with advanced expertise in Excel
- Experience with ERP, business intelligence, and reporting tools such as Microsoft D365, Masterpiece, IMS21, OneStream, or similar tools
- PowerBI and Alteryx experience are a plus
