Harrington Farm Looking for General Manager at Princeton, MA Full Time

POSITION

General Manager (GM) of a beautiful mountainside wedding venue located in central Massachusetts within an hour from Boston.

OUR VENUE

An exclusive venue with over 30 years of history producing quality, memorable weddings has made us one of the top wedding locations in Massachusetts and the surrounding states.

Beautiful mountain views and sunsets as well as manicured gardens and grounds are a spectacular setting for private events which can accommodate from 100 to 220 guests. Our rustic-chic event space is located on 60 acres of land and surrounded by Wachusett State Reservation.

JOB SUMMARY

The GM has primary responsibility for ensuring that every aspect of the building’s presentation, service, and experience meets our high standards of excellence. Specifically, the GM:

Partners with the operations team to plan and execute successful events

Ensures sales and marketing for weddings and other special events are in line with established metrics

Partners with the culinary team to develop and execute a high-quality menu, meeting and anticipating food and beverage trends

Partners with the maintenance team to ensure the building and grounds are properly maintained

Understands and manages all aspects of the financial performance of the venue

Serves as the public face of the venue and as a role model for the team

OUR REQUIREMENTS

An experienced professional who not only understands wedding event sales and operations but who has knowledge of the local market. Our requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree

5+ years of experience in on or off-premise catering sales or management at a similar property, including:

Wedding event sales

Hiring, developing and disciplining staff

Leading a high performing customer service team

Competence in conflict resolution and emergency management

Responsibility for P&L

Demonstrates strong “team player” and “consensus-building” approach with excellent leadership qualities

Ability to work a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evenings

Technically savvy including experience with Caterease, All Seated, Revel, Quick Books, and other related software

Genuine warmth and hospitality, and able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
