Temporary Fiscal Manager Flexible Schedule

We are looking for an experienced Fiscal Manager to come in and assist with day to day fiscal work as well as to train or mentor the incoming Fiscal Technician for approximately 3-4 months. The schedule is flexible and would require approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate has been in the financial or business field for awhile and has experience with basic budgeting principles and is capable of using the latest accounting software to record and analyze data. We are looking for a goal-oriented individual who is willing to take the initiative and doesn’t mind working on their own, so prior experience in a busy office environment is required.

The Fiscal Manager is responsible for entering and reviewing/or mentoring the Fiscal Technician in entering and reviewing appropriate ledger entry reconciliations. This person is responsible for maintaining the general ledger system and preparing monthly financial statements. This person is also responsible for doing payroll for approximately 50 employees biweekly.

The Fiscal Manager is also responsible for providing/or mentoring the Fiscal Technician to provide accurate financial data and recommendations based on their findings. This means that they must be able to analyze numbers quickly while being well-versed with company policies to avoid costly mistakes.

Responsibilities:

• Enter financial data into computer.
• General Ledger
• Cash receipts
• Use accounting software (QuickBooks & Excel).
• Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
• Payroll
• Employee benefits
• Payroll tax compliance by filing payroll tax and other withholding forms on time and making necessary payments.
• Help develop budgets
• Work within the Agency and Program budgets
• Cash forecasting
• Investigate accounting discrepancies.
• Balance accounts.
• Make sure all financial reports are accurate.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Capital assets reconciliations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Maintain records in an orderly manner for future reference
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Answer telephone calls and receive payments at the office
• Communicates no less than once a week with CEO regarding agency financial situation

Education and Experience

· Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business

OR

· Must have an associate degree in accounting or business and 2 years experience

OR

· High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 years experience

Skills

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· Proficient with QuickBooks including payroll

· Excellent organizational skills

· Great communication skills both verbally and in writing

· Ability to problem solve
