Key Responsibilities:
* Accounting responsibilities include general ledger, payables, receivables, stipend checks, reconcile construction closeout cost reports to QuickBooks, mortgage status reports, sale taxes, audits, escrow accounts and individual accounts records, tithe, lines of credit, mortgage payment and escrow reconciliations, requested financial reports, etc.
* Creation and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
* Balances Donation accounts for all donations received per the bank on a daily basis. Reconciles QB to Salsa with the Database Administrator. Provide monthly financial reconciliation.
* Maintains insurance records, pays premiums and files all documents necessary to maintain policies in force for all insurance including: homeowners, builders risk & general liability, automobile, worker’s compensation, errors and omissions, etc. Maintains appropriate certificate of insurance for all subcontractors.
* Works with the Controller to prepare all needed reports.
* Arranges and coordinates annual audit with the selected accounting firm.
Requirements:
* Dedication to and ability to articulate the mission and core values of Habitat for Humanity.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Desire to work towards Habitat’s mission.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, but not required.
* Experience in the construction and/or not-for-profit industries is preferred, but not required.
