What You Will Do:
The ideal candidate will be a recognized expert in the area of accounting and financial management and leads overall strategy of client service financial management improvement engagements. Lead ongoing reviews and provide feedback on client’s remediation strategy, including performing critical reviews of policies and procedures, internal control aids, and other documents to share observations, as applicable, to help ensure these documents align and support an effective remediation strategy. Perform independent quality assurance reviews of program performance and deliverables to ensure that contractual obligations are met. This includes performing on-site quality control, review and approval of working papers and findings and adherence to applicable standards, laws, policy, and regulations. Responsibilities more specifically include:
Support and participate in key leadership meetings.
Share best practices and lessons learned from other remediation projects.
Provide strategic guidance and technical assistance for audit preparation and remediation efforts (e.g., develop integrated enterprise strategies; develop, implement, and validate corrective action plans).
Monitor and provide feedback on audit remediation efforts/plans executed by various organizations.
Develop and deliver communications for internal/external briefings, requests for information, etc.
Support ad hoc requests such as researching topical accounting/auditing issues, developing and reviewing position papers, providing integration support, etc.
Managing the work of Managing consultants, performing critical reviews of the work products and providing feedback.
What You Will Need:
Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed by a State licensing agency.
Candidate must have a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience within the past 15 years.5 years of this experience must be in a management capacity.
Experience leading the development and successful execution of strategies in preparation for financial statement audits of a large commercial company, or a Federal agency that resulted in a clean audit opinion,
Experience leading a successful execution of the audit process as the Independent Public Accountant (IPA) of a large commercial company, or a Federal agency that ultimately received a clean audit opinion.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
Experience with DoD and/or the Department of the Navy.
Demonstrates abilities and success with identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; preparing concise, accurate documents.
Experience in developing written communications in a variety of different formats that include but are not limited to PowerPoint presentations, position or whitepapers, outlines, and speaker talking points.
Demonstrates abilities and success with analyzing detailed finance and accounting processes to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities, facilitating audit requests and planning and performing tests of controls and balances.
Audit, audit remediation or supply chain experience with respect to Inventory and Warehouse Management
