The Assistant Controller is a critical member of the plant finance team and provides support to the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will assist in developing, tracking, and analyzing the plant budget and costing processes. You’ll prepare reports and statements related to plant financial matters and ensure quality and timeliness of entry to Corporate Accounting and Plant Operating Departments.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in providing accurate month and year-end closing activities, including Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Income Statement variance reporting
Review plant payables and receivables to ensure compliance with budget
Analyze positive or negative variances from the business plan and make recommendations on problems
Assist in preparing the yearly business plan for the plant ensuring the timely input of data to Corporate Accounting
Prepare weekly cash flow forecast including capital expense projections
Prepare for and participate in all internal and external accounting related audits
Participate in physical inventories as assigned
Understand costing and BOM routings
Maintain FAS fixed asset ledger and backup A/P and A/R functions
Participate and engage with Plant team on Kaizen events

What We Need from You:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field, or equivalent
3 to 5 years of relevant work experience (experience in a manufacturing environment preferred)
High degree of Excel proficiency
ERP system experience
Knowledge of Odyssey is a plus
