WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our downtown Denver office, you will have responsibility for the preparation and review of our quarterly, annual and other SEC filings and for researching technical US GAAP and IFRS issues. The role forms an integral part of the Gates consolidation and reporting team, which has responsibility for the quality and integrity of Gates’ consolidated financial information. You will be involved in the analysis and review of monthly financial results, working closely with our global controllers to ensure accurate and timely submission of results. Initially, a key part of this role will also be to assist in an IFRS implementation project as Gates transitions to dual-GAAP reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing and supervising the preparation of Gates’ quarterly and annual SEC filings and other external reports to provide accurate and insightful financial information to investors, analysts, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
Preparing and reviewing supporting schedules for quarterly and annual filings and acting as a key liaison for the external auditors during their quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Assisting with the implementation of IFRS dual-GAAP reporting model for Gates, including identification of GAAP differences, managing the collection and reporting of data needed to quantify GAAP adjustments, preparing IFRS financial statements and embedding processes for ongoing IFRS compliance and reporting.
Coordinating across multiple departments including Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and Investor Relations to collect, review or provide data to support our consolidation and forecasting processes, SEC and other filings, and corporate transactions/initiatives.
Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial results and working with reporting entities globally to understand or correct submitted data to ensure completeness and integrity of the data in the consolidation system
Reviewing the accuracy and consistency of consolidated financial information in external presentations.
Maintaining Gates’ global accounting policy manuals and being the technical lead for monitoring and researching new accounting pronouncements (US GAAP and IFRS) and developments relevant to Gates, and addressing technical accounting queries from our reporting entities globally, as well as from corporate function leaders.
Identifying improvements to the current accounting infrastructure to streamline the delivery of accurate financial information.
Responsibility for reviewing and approving ad-hoc regional lease or revenue contract submissions in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements.
Maintaining a rigorous internal control environment and owning several key control activities.
Assisting with ad-hoc information requests, analysis, and cross-functional projects.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
5+ years of experience in financial reporting or equivalent roles, with exposure to complex accounting principles, internal controls, consolidation, and international operations. Public accounting experience preferred.
Professional certification such as CPA (or equivalent), preferred.

Demonstrated understanding of regulatory environments and related reporting requirements.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite; experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and/or WDesk preferable but not essential.
No travel is allotted for this position
