Location: Rockford, IL
This position reports to: Controller
Essential Functions:
1. Provide leadership, direction, and support to the accounts receivable team members.
2. Participate in the ongoing development of the entire accounting team.
3. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and report preparation.
4. Lead process improvement efforts within the accounts receivable area.
5. Assist with creating budgets and projections.
6. Assist in the creation of the month end closing reports.
7. Assist with Month End close process as needed.
8. Review General Ledger activity as needed and analyzes information to facilitate relevant reporting .
9. Prepare, obtain approval and post monthly accruing expenses entries as needed.
10. Drive reporting improvements and standardization efforts.
11. Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
12. Provide accounting support and processing entries when workload requires additional support.
13. Assist in preparation of year-end work papers for internal and external audits.
14. May have responsibility for international operations and intercompany financial consolidations.
15. Proactively communicate observations to Controller upon initial discovery then works to validate data.
16. Assist with various finance and accounting team projects as needed.
17. Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
18. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
1. Polite and professional manner.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 4+ years of experience.
3. Prior leadership experience and demonstrated leadership skillset.
4. Ability to recognize problems and take appropriate action.
5. Experience with state and local sales/use tax and property tax returns & filings is preferred.
6. Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
7. High level of computer skills including business analytics software.
8. Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
9. Strong communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
10. Strong time management skills and detail orientation.
11. Strong analytical skills.
12. Highly motivated, well organized.
13. Effective presentation skills.
14. Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.

2. Fixed asset management and reporting experience
