Successful REIT in Marin County is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail
The Accounting Manager will have an active role in the monthly accounting close, participating with other members of the team
The ideal candidate will have four or more years of accounting experience, with a mix of public and private industry Real estate or REIT industry experience is a big plus
The ideal candidate will have experience with financial reporting, system implementation and various IT software applications
This position will report to the Corporate Controller Competitive compensation with annual base salary ranging from $k – $k and with comprehensive benefits package including equity
This position is expected to be in the office – days per week DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Collaborate with Corporate Controller to perform monthly close of corporate activities, including oversight of accounts payable processing, accrued expenses, and analysis of actuals vs budget of general and administrative expenses Maintain ongoing collaboration with others in the accounting department to ensure that transactions are captured appropriately in the financial statements Work with third-party providers to track and record sales tax on rent revenue, state income and franchise taxes, and federal income tax Manage and oversee the fixed asset accounting process, including the recording of new fixed assets, depreciation, and tax depreciation schedules Participate in support activities to senior management, including preparation of financial data used in quarterly press releases of company operating results, materials used in quarterly presentations to the Company Board of Directors, investor analysis Assist in SEC Accounting and Reporting activities, ensuring processes and controls are effective in reporting the Company’s earnings, financial position and cash flows Participate in setting corporate-wide accounting policies in accordance with GAAP Assist in implementation of new software and systems as necessary Develop and maintain proper internal controls regarding the collection and dissemination of external data Special projects as required Prepare REIT compliance testing and assist in the compilation of information for the Company’s annual tax returns QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business CPA (or in active preparation / pursuit) Minimum of years of public and private accounting experience Experience with publicly traded companies, REIT or real estate industry preferred Experience with internal controls and supporting SOX requirements System implementation and MRI software preferred About Us Four Corners Property Trust, Inc
