This 35-hour, full-time, senior-level position reports to the Church Administrator and exercises meaningful leadership, over the finance functions of the church. The Finance Manager works with other staff and lay leaders in support of all Church activities in furtherance its mission and vision.
Essential Functions:
1. Oversees the recording and proper distribution of all income and expenses for the Church.
2. Assist in creating and monitoring budget controls.
3. Provides periodic financial reports to senior staff and lay leaders.
4. Maintains donor records.
5. Works with Preschool staff and monitors the Preschool (on site) finances and budget.
6. Assists in the creation and adoption process for the annual budget.
7. Prepares invoices, check requisitions, and cuts checks for the paying of bills, as well as posts all financial entries.
8. Transfers funds as necessary and balances all bank accounts monthly.
9. Maintains accurate records of employees’ accrued vacation, sick and other PTO.
10. Performs related tasks as directed by the Church Administrator.
Skills/Requirements:
· Must be knowledgeable of double-entry bookkeeping systems.
· Ability to learn new programs and procedures, as well as “think outside the box”.
· General skills in addressing painting, plumbing and electrical work, and a grasp of basic construction.
· Must be able to effectively work on their own, as a member of the team with all levels of staff, Church leadership and Church members/friends.
· The successful candidate must be flexible, have a sense of humor, and demonstrate a clear sense of calling and commitment to the Church and its mission.
· Confidential is essential.
· Computer skills with a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; a familiarity was ACS is a plus.
