Position Summary:
The world has awakened to the importance of indoor air quality, and now more than ever, Filtration Group IAQ must ensure it has the data and insights to guide financial, sales, and operational decision making.
The Manager – Strategic Finance will be responsible for financial reporting (excl. accounting), forecasting/budgeting, and ad hoc reporting to support our leadership in key commercial & operational decision making. This individual will report to the CFO and has one direct report (Power BI Analyst).
The successful candidate should demonstrate a proven track record in business partnering, an ability to build trust, relationships and culture, strong modeling and forecasting skills, a strong understanding of data reporting using Power BI, curious and asks questions (desire to learn), strong analytical skills, ability to positively influence others, successful project and change management skills, succinct story telling skills, and executive maturity.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Proactively provide intra-month reporting (pacing, forecasting, trends)
Own and compile the monthly commercial reporting package (incl. Sales Trends by Product Line/Customer, Bookings Trends by Product Line/Customer, Price Realization, Price/Volume/Mix/Margin KPIs by Plant)
‘Tell the story’ and drive insightful analytics for Finance leadership reviews.
Please note, this position does not include responsibilities for accounting, journal entries, ‘closing the books’ or other purely-accounting oriented duties.
Forecasting (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually)
Build financial models to show the company’s financial standing and provide alternative scenarios to save costs and/or increase performance
Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast
Support the quarterly and annual forecasting/budgeting processes, including corporate requests and reports
Ad Hoc Reporting
Customer, Product Line, & SKU Profitability Modeling (incl. Price/Cost impacts)
Margin Reporting (bridge sales/margin/cost performance vs. PY and forecast)
Support management team and partner with the Controller/IT teams to generate data-driven analysis to develop and optimize decision making
Integrate varied data sources and assimilate the information into a clear narrative.
Create and assist with monthly operating review & strategic planning presentations
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of Excel. Strongly preferred to possess database skills (e.g., Microsoft Access) that are used to house & analyze data from our ERP system.
Bachelor’s degree is required, degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business preferred.
5+ years’ experience in FP&A or other operations-oriented finance role
Experience with QAD, SQL, and Power BI a plus
Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets and develop concise conclusions
