What You’ll Do:
The senior staff accountant will work under the guidance of the Accounting Manager to perform and coordinate accounting duties, including preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and handling accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. A solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills are required.
- Develop monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. This includes cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
- Complete month-end close procedures
- Analyze financial information
- Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations
- Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries
- Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices
- Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably within a software or technology company
- Strong computer skills using MS office Suite
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles
- Working knowledge of accounting software, specifically Quickbooks is a plus
- Organization and Judgment: Superior organizational skills and good judgment to make decisions about access, scheduling and other issues. Results driven and detail-oriented, self-starter who can maintain high activity level to achieve objectives
