We are currently in search of an International Director of Finance to join our International Operations team! The International Director of Finance is responsible for the timely and accurate filing of federal financial grant submissions and will also assist in the accurate and timely completion of all general accounting and reporting functions of the international country offices. This position reports directly to the International Controller.
Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
Experience
5+ years of non-profit or governmental industry accounting experience required
Emphasis on federal grant reporting and compliance preferred
Experience with Accounting regulation in international operations
Knowledge of federal regulations related to grants at the federal level preferred
Public accounting/assurance experience preferred
Native speaking/writing proficiency in English required
Ability to read and write Spanish is preferred
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job may be considered.
Licenses and Certifications
CPA or CMA preferred
Essential Functions:
Provide financial review and oversight for international FEED country offices (LATAM, ASIA& AFRICA)
Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present financial reports to senior leadership team
Oversee all international accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and donor requirements
Review international affiliate offices for compliance with financial and internal control standards and identify weaknesses or opportunities for improvement in the accounting structure or controls systems of FEED affiliates as necessary, and propose solutions as needed.
Review and analyze international affiliate cash flow requirements and funding requests against results and budgetary needs.
Assist in the preparation of month end and year end closes.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly accrual based financial statements.
Prepares and post journal entries in the accounting system in accordance with accounting standards, including related proper documentation.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of single audit regulations and an ability to monitor compliance requirements related to federal awards.
Prepare all Federal grant financial forms for submission to federal reporting agency in a timely manner.
In charge of preparation, review, and coordination of Single Audit work.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws; maintain accountability standards.
Assist in the preparation of work papers for annual financial audits, tax filings and other regulatory reports.
Serve as reviewer of material contracts with vendors, consultants, and subgrantees.
Support major operational decisions such as those pertaining to office leases, equipment purchases, etc.
Assess and evaluate business, budget, and financial processes and procedures; identify and implement opportunities for improvement; and continually assess finance information systems
