Operations Finance Manager Position Summary :

• The Manager Operations Finance is the functional leader for the Operations Finance team, dedicated to supporting multiple business sites which provide services to manufacture parts for new products and production within the United States.
• The role will involve developing / refining the needed reporting, processes and analytics to support the site leaders, corporate operations team and financial / cost accounting needs of the business.
• Position has direct responsibility for our largest and corporate site in Hartland, WI
• This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Operations Finance Manager Key Responsibilities :

• Lead cost accounting process.
• Manage team of two regional cost analysts
• Work with operation teams to develop budgets and forecasts for corporate departments and ten operating sites.
• Works with IT / Operations team to develop appropriate cost detail / standards as well as ensure they are built properly within ERP system.
• Analyze and interpret actual cost results on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Develop reporting to assist site leaders in understanding their performance and initiating countermeasures as needed to address concerns.
• Be actively involved in the manufacturing activities at all plants, providing support for RMA process, cost of quality and Inventory Control.
• Work with Corporate Controller to support internal control / Sarbox processes.
• Responsible for creating inventory valuation processes including cycle counting, perpetual as possible and Excess and Obsolete analysis.

Support operations to improve working capital inventory management.

• Work with Commercial Finance to assess margins of large orders.
• Evaluate inflation and internal material performance. Support Supply chain to identify / implement cost saving ideas.
• Foster positive business partner relationships with different functional teams to assess future investments including Capex, systems, process changes.
• Support the due diligence efforts of potential future acquisitions from a financial and valuation perspective.
• Responsible for professional development of employees within the team.

Operations Finance Manager Qualifications / Requirements :

• Minimum of six to ten years of relevant progressive experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, deal with, motivate, and influence employees at all levels, and drive continuous improvement across the company.
• The candidate will be a hands-on leader who is at ease both working at a strategic and operational level with the ability to be pragmatic and sort through the details when needed.
• Possess an ability to lead and motivate through influence with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Value and demonstrate emotional intelligence in collaboration and interactions with team members, internal clients, and third-party service providers.
• Outstanding analytical problem-solving skills required, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and the ability to engage with others in addressing complex business issues.
• Strong understanding of the business and the ability to motivate teams whether a direct report or other functional area.
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset and excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills articulating in a professional manner.
• Experience in planning and execution including budget control.

Operations Finance Manager Experience Must-Haves :

• Experience in manufacturing required
• Experience in multisite and medium sized organizations, including acquisitions
• Hands on ERP and systems integration experience with smaller, less sophisticated businesses that are being integrated into a larger platform.
• Experience doing hands on projects, working cross functionally across the organization

Operations Finance Manager Education Background :

• Requires a bachelors degree in finance, accounting (managerial), business, or economics.
• MBA / CMA preferred.
