Position
Summary:
The Credit Risk practice provides services to Credit Risk Management functions, primarily performing credit reviews, for commercial and consumer credit exposures within the financial services industry. The Senior Analyst role is primarily responsible directing the work and production for teams of staff and analysts performing loan reviews
Essential Functions of the Job:
Trains and supervises a team of 5€“7 analysts by providing effective feedback, information, and insights.
Provides detailed review of team’s work product (i.e., associates and analysts)
Review quality of work papers populated by Associate Analysts and Analysts for credit reviews and related projects. This would include ensuring that the overall summary, PSOR, SSOR, guarantor information, collateral information, policy exceptions, relevant calculations, etc. are documented in the work papers accurately.
Quality review includes analyzing the work product of analysts against expectations set forth in the project, including attention to detail, business acumen and etiquette, accuracy of information and adherence to the guidelines set forth in training on a project.
Serves as an escalation point for more complex credit and or regulatory requiring specific subject matter expertise.
Understands delivery center role expectations and supports the engagement team to deliver exceptional client service

Analytical/Decision Making
Responsibilities:
Senior Analysts perform work that requires independent judgment (including the ability to escalate appropriately) to ensure Analysts perform their responsibilities in accordance with the project’s expectations and in accordance with EY best practices for client delivery. Provides findings and recommendations on credit risk ratings.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Knowledge of commercial credit analysis and credit risk management concepts including policies / standards across commercial loan portfolios.
Ability to be able to make recommendations relating to credit reviews being performed on individual loans being reviewed by Associate Analysts and Analysts.
Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment
Possesses strong writing skills and ability to think analytically
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and/or SharePoint) and willingness to learn firm-used technologies
Demonstrates understanding of client’s business environment
Acts as a positive role model to junior team members and plans opportunities to improve own and others’ technical competency and professional growth
Understands delivery center role expectations and supports the engagement team to deliver exceptional client service
Demonstrated project management, teaming, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective organization and time management skills while working on multiple projects
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

Supervision
Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst reports to a Manager throughout a client engagement on a daily basis providing status updates on the number of credit files reviewed, summary of observations and a description of issues they might have encountered. The Senior Analyst is responsible for performing second level reviews with minimal oversight.
Senior Analysts are responsible for training and developing junior analysts in EY’s credit review methodologies, templates, work papers and tools, and overseeing the quality of work performed by junior analysts and providing feedback to enable improvement as necessary.
Senior Analysts are expected to be a Counselor for Staff/Analyst level employees within 6 months of entering the Senior Analyst rank. In addition to the above job duties, the Counselor role is responsible for managing an employee’s career development, skills development and performance management.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree; not limited to financial majors but also to include Liberal Arts, Political Science, English, Pre-Law programs, International Studies
Experience:
3 years of work experience (minimum) in the area of Credit Risk Management and/or Credit Review in the financial services industry
Certification Requirements:
Completion of a Bank sponsored credit analysis training program (Preferred)
