JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is the top financial role for the Transplant Clinic (Clinic) which includes both hospital based and professional operations. This position is responsible for the full revenue cycle of the Clinic with the support of shared services revenue cycle operations within Emory Healthcare. This position is also responsible for the monitoring of the Clinic¿s financial situation and ability to achieve budgeted financial metrics across the EHC system. The position has a matrix reporting relationship with Clinic leadership, Hospital administration, and Physician Practice group administration. Additional job duties include: a. Coordinates and participates in the strategic planning process b. Develops all Clinic budgets and forecasts (both short and long term). Assesses performance to budgets and forecasts and develops action plans to improve unfavorable performance. c. Oversees the development and administration of the physician compensation plan of the relevant Clinic Section to include appropriate budgeting of volumes and salary expense as well as appropriate recording of month end accruals to match revenues with expenses. d. Responsible for the Capital Planning of the Clinic to include development of capital budgets, business plans, and pro formas; must be able to evaluate proposed plans based upon profitability and return e. Organizes, manages, and monitors the performance productivity of staff in finance and revenue cycle roles with in the Transplant Clinic f. Works with EHC leaders to measure and improve Section¿s (physicians) Hospital Downstream Impact and develops plans for growth of Service Lines g. Oversees the financial clearance, charge capture, coding, and edit/denial management for the Clinic¿s revenue cycle. h. Manages professional and hospital resources, aligning them with best-in-class performance metrics in specific categories of revenue cycle (productivity, compliance, accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency). i. Works with Hospital Finance regarding compilation and reporting of data for appropriate filing of the annual Medicare cost report. j. Works closely with the revenue cycle operations of Emory Healthcare to ensure timely and appropriate billings and collections on patient accounts. k. Works with the Emory Healthcare managed care department regarding revenue management and contract development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Finance or related field or CPA. At least ten years of finance or accounting experience OR at least 7 years of Transplant Revenue Cycle experience. Previous supervisor/management experience is preferred.
