If you are a Finance Manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! As the Finance Manager for the Controls and Software Americas (C&S) Supply Chain organization headquartered in Charlottesville, VA. You will work closely with business unit finance and operating partners to drive transparency, consistency, and performance against financial and operational goals. You will also partner with finance and operations teams outside of C&S to ensure proper reporting and compliance with Emerson cost accounting and Discreate Automation Business Unit supply chain requirements.
AS A FINANCE MANAGER SUPPLY CHAIN, YOU WILL:
Partner with MAS Supply Chain Leader, providing financial planning and analysis. Understand and communicate how operational activity translates to the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
Identify and drive efforts to expand gross profit through supply chain activities; create and champion best practices in a dynamic business environment.
Consolidate and review regional performance on a monthly basis. Includes gross profit, productivity, deflation, inventory, variances, etc.
Provide timely analysis and context to Discreate Automation leadership teams.Coordinate critical business planning processes including President’s Operating Review (POR), forecasting rhythms, annual planning, etc. across supply chain.
Ensure accurate application of inventory valuation methodologies across C&S Americas.
Define and document business unit specific policies as needed and liaise with Emerson corporate cost accounting
Direct annual review of the overhead cost burden used in standard costing and NPI investment analysis, as well as consistent application of supply chain costs across functions and analyses.
Drive systems projects to align with Emerson standards, simplify processes, and provide data visibility.

You define, analyze, and provide visibility to key financial and operational indicators measuring health and profitability of the business. You proactively engage with supply chain and other functions globally to implement strategies impacting financial performance. You consistently apply a holistic business driver and marketplace focus when prioritizing actions. You readily distinguish between what’s meaningful and what’s less impactful to make sense of complex, dynamic situations. You adjust communication content and style to build productive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Five years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain organization
Experience with large ERP systems
Working knowledge Excel with using pivot tables, advanced v-lookups and indexing functions
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
MBA or CPA
Cost Accounting experience
Working knowledge of SAP
