Junior Property Accountant
Position Summary: Responsible for the accounting for properties owned and/or managed by Echelon Property Group, LLC. Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, review/approve the AP for the portfolio, prepare monthly financial statement analysis, prepare journal entries, and document business transactions. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepares all reporting, including balance sheet, income statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. Responsible for the implementation of established accounting policies and procedures and adheres to company deadlines for reporting. The position is accountable and responsible for the entire entity, knowing and understanding every item on the financial statement (including balance sheet and income statement).
This position will work closely with Owners, Regional Managers, Community Managers, the Accounts Payable Department, and any other key personnel to further ensure the quality and accuracy of all financial information.

- Be dependable: meet all AME deadlines as well as financial reporting.
- Fully understand and comply with Company policies and procedures.

- General Ledger Review
- Review for errors, miscoding, etc.
- Reconciliations – Utilize current AME workbook for month-end analysis
- Bank Accounts
- A/R Balances
- A/P Balances
- Escrow Impound Accounts
- Debt Balances
- Interest Expense
- Real Estate Taxes
- Security Deposit Accounts
- Employee Concessions
- Management fee calculation
- All Balance Sheet Accounts
- Reporting
- Financial Statements
- Cash Flow Analysis
- Review generated financial statements/reports for accuracy.
- Comply with special reporting lender requirements as appropriate. (e.g., HUD/CHFA requirements)
- Cash Management and Reporting
- Weekly AP
- Daily Cash Activity Posting
- Forecast and communicate future needs of cash in writing
- Make bank deposits
- Review and approve payables for the properties assigned
- Research issues on the balance sheet and income statement
- Yearly Budget Accounting Assumptions
- Audits
- Independent Audits
- Periodic GL account audits
- Work with outside auditors as required
- Other duties/projects as assigned
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 annually; pay depends on experience.
