Eaton’s North America Crouse-Hinds, B-Line and Oil & Gas organization is seeking a Finance Manager. This position is located in Syracuse, NY.
The Finance Manager will have the opportunity to work with the North America (NA) leadership team in the >$1 billion dollar North America Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, and Oil & Gas organization as well as the Group financial team.
This position will report to the North America Controller for Eaton Crouse-Hinds/B-Line North America. Its primary purpose is to play a key role in the annual budget process, analyze monthly performance through financial statement reviews, complete month end tasks, understand regional receivables performance, partner with Engineering to monitor & report R&D performance, give presentations to NA leadership on financial performance, and perform analysis on changes in the business.
The incumbent must possess the ability to both provide and present meaningful reports and metrics to Senior Mgt. A strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, control concepts, financial, and budget principles is required. In addition, a general knowledge of automated systems, and the function of the finance department are required. An advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are required. The position requires advanced abilities for problem solving, developing and presenting accurate financial information as requested by Senior Mgt.
Provide guidance and support in reviewing and analyzing monthly results and forecasts, including appropriate commentary to the Group and regional leaders. Highlight areas of concern and recommend improvement actions.
Demonstrates the ability to drive process improvements: detecting the need for change, proactively gathering requirements, designing, and developing processes, implementing change, and stabilizing process changes to deliver on stakeholders’ critical requirements.
Perform special analyses to support strategic business decision-making; inclusive of financial analysis in support of strategic initiatives, capital investments, changing business models, acquisition activity, make vs. buy analysis, pricing models, etc.
Support the development of the region’s strategic plan financials, annual profit plan, and monthly closing and rolling forecasts.
Interface actively with the business unit (BU) finance leaders, Group, and Corporate finance teams (tax, audit, treasury, etc.) as well as the North America leadership team.
Participate and own certain elements of key monthly financial processes to include month-end closing, forecasting, and planning.
Create standard work associated with analyzing/prioritizing, tracking, and executing outgrowth investments including NPI and penetration globally. Specific focus on partnering with engineering, product management and program management on NPI ROI, BOC quality and ProLaunch improvements. This also includes aligning outgrowth investments to financial performance within regional plans through ROPs.
Understand business requirements, develop solutions to meet those requirements and as required, participate on teams to implement changes
Report on SG&A expenditure analysis to identify trends and areas in need of cost control focus. Provide valuable variance analysis to highlight issues or opportunities and promote understanding of necessary changes.
Lead the implementation of process improvement ideas to enable more accurate and faster reporting.
Analyze Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow statements for the North America business units.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related specialization from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years experience in finance management
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or CPA
Financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with SAP, Oracle Business Warehouse, Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM), Power BI.
