The Technical Services Managerwill be responsible for leading the team in formulating new products and modifications of existing formulas. Additionally, they will ensure the timely completion of product development activities. They will manage all product development stages, including prototype development, performance testing, product evaluation, scale-up, and specifications, with other internal departments/divisions such as Quality, Analytical, Operations, and Project Management.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Formulate prototypes based on a concept or predetermined formulas
Product development of OTCs, Homeopathies, and personal care cosmetic products.
Reverse engineering of existing products (theoretical or through prototypes)
Troubleshoot existing formulas from R&D through Commercial phases
Provide lab-scale batches for Transfer, method development/validation exercises
Assist with scale-up from development to production quantities, in collaboration with plant production personnel.
Assist in the management of R&D and Pilot lab technical documentation.
Coordinate and assist in pilot and production scale-up batches.
Overseeing manufacturing activities during Scale-up and Validations.
Perform all other duties as per the company’s needs and requirements.
Drafting/reviewing/approving Manufacturing Batch Records, Manufacturing Validation Protocols, and other technical documentation.
Advising/guiding manufacturing personnel when needed basis.
Troubleshooting manufacturing issues, identifying the root cause, and owning resolution and corrective actions.
Representing the technical operation division in daily operation meetings and during the client’s onsite visit.
Collaborating with internal divisions, clients, and vendors for technical operations related activities.
Proactively researching/reviewing/implementing new manufacturing process engineering techniques/instrumentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing of pilot/commercial batches.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing pharmaceutical/cosmetic products (semisolid/solution/suspension dosages forms) is an advantage.
Familiarity with liquids, suspensions, solutions, and semi-solid pharmaceutical dosage forms, cGMPs, and USP.
Understanding of regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical product development/manufacturing.
Excellent scientific writing skills.
Ability to multi-task various activities.
Ability to collaborate with R&D Formulation/Analytical, Packaging Operations, Quality Operations to enhance cross-functional transparency and executional success.
Good time management and the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to discuss scientific strategies/results and interact with client’s internal departments
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
