About the Role:
As a staff tax accountant at Easier Accounting, you will work with a dedicated team of accountants to meet the needs of our clients. You will be working with multiple clients in various industries and will be responsible for ensuring each client has up-to-date financial statements and timely filed income tax returns. You will be responsible for communicating with team members and clients. You will also be assisting our senior accountants with tax planning and researching various tax strategies for client-specific situations. A qualified candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail,
bookkeeping and income tax experience, and a desire to learn and grow.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance – required
• Master’s Degree in Accounting – preferred
• CPA or pursuing a CPA license – preferred
• Minimum 1 tax season preparing tax returns – required
• Solid understanding of U.S. individual and business entity income taxation
• Tax planning experience is a plus
• Bookkeeping experience preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principals
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of individual and business entity income tax returns

• Preparing and delivering tax plans and researching various tax strategies
• Prepare financial statements on U.S. income tax basis, cash basis, and accrual basis using cloud-based accounting software

• Communicate with team members; verbal and written
• Communicate with clients to gather information and answer questions; verbal and written

Preferred System Experience:

• Xero
• QuickBooks
• Excel
• UltraTax CS

* We work remotely with clients around the country using cloud-based accounting software. A solid understanding of modern software and computer system will go a long way in this position.
