The DoubleTree Philadelphia Airport is seeking a Director of Finance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a Director of Finance in Full-Service Hotels or Resorts. They will possess the experience and knowledge to manage this 300+ room property with a “hands-on” approach.This position is responsible for overseeing the Decentralized Accounting Department in the continuing effort to maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures with the end goal of delivering outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The Director of Finance reports to the hotel Managing Director.QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or equivalent. College Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred – or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a hotel/resort Director of Finance required.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills, multi-task oriented.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and deal with/interact at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent PC skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data entry required.
• Pleasant phone demeanor.
• Strong employee relations’ skills.
• Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a strong team member.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Safeguard Hotel Assets by implementing key Financial Controls and common business practices.
• Insure Accounting procedures are compliant with the standards set-forth by the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
• Drive the Forecast and Budgeting process working with the operational team to ensure forecast goals are achieved.
• Ensure Forecasting Accuracy of expenses.
• Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
• Preparation of fully supported monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain internal controls in all departments.
• Maintain all contracts, permits, leases, licenses, and other legal and financial records.
• Implement and support property operating policies and procedures.
• Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and government regulations.
• Ensure property compliance with Management Agreement.
• As requested or required, prepare Return on Investment Proforma for Capital Expenditures.
• Assist in facilitation of Risk Management program. Maintain insurance (general liability, property and Worker’s Compensation) programs.
• Coordinate all financial audits including Internal, Independent and Municipal/Statutory.
• Coordinate all internal financial training and development of department heads and managers.
• Function as financial advisor to management team and provide on-going special project support.
• Contribute to the informative critiques of Actual vs Planned results
• Oversee all Accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Income Audit, and Assistant Director of Finance. On occasion the Director of Finance will have to perform these functions.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other related duties as requested by the General Manager & Chief Financial Officer.
