Dorst Technologies is a leading global manufacturer of equipment and complete production systems for the automated preparation and forming of ceramics, carbide and powder metallurgy components used in a variety of industries (automotive, electronics, medical products, machine tools, traditional ceramics etc.). Dorst Technologies is a privately-held company founded in 1860. The company’s global headquarters and technology center are located near Munich, Germany. The company also maintains subsidiaries in the USA and China, and over 26 representative agencies around the globe.
DORST America Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of DORST Technologies Germany. The company is headquartered in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania USA. It is responsible for sales, service and remanufacturing of the entire DORST Technologies program in North America.
The position is responsible for financial and administrative functions at Dorst America. These functions include Finance, Human Resources, Purchasing and Inventory Controls. The position reports directly to the company CEO and dotted line to Executive Board member – Finance at the Parent Company.
Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly and year end journal entries.
* Prepare and analyze monthly reports and financial statements.
* Prepare documents for annual audit and interface with external auditors through the Financial Statement preparation.
* Prepare financial forecasts of Profit & Loss, Liquidity, and Net Income.
* Plan, oversee and address variances during annual inventory count.
* Oversee Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections.
* Optimize insurance protection and administrate all insurance policies.
* Address all confidential payroll issues and benefits.
* Address personnel issues, including legal issues, with an attorney.
* Complete new hire paperwork and enrollments.
* Administrate Health Insurance Benefits, including annual plan selection and enrollment and HRA plan.
* Manage 401k plan, including contributions, annual notices, Compliance Testing and Form 5500 filing.
* Maintain cell phones and plans.
* Address financial issues with banks (Loan, C/L, foreign exchange contracts).
* Manage Foreign Exchange contract for monthly payments to parent company and also for progress payments on new press sales.
* Prepare annual Business Privilege Tax return.
* Interface with Canadian CPA for annual tax filing.
* Coordinate SAP to ensure proper processes are used for sales, costs of sales and inventory transactions to ensure sound financial reporting.
* Prepare annual Consents for Board Meeting and Consents for Banking.
* Prepare Bank Resolutions for any changes to banking relationships.
* Other projects as they arise under the direction of CEO or Parent Company Executive Board
Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years accounting experience is required.
* Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
* Keeping detailed and accurate reports and documentation
* Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on attention to detail. Good time-management skills
* Occasional international travel to headquarters in Germany.
* Proficiency with MS Office software required. Experience with SAP highly desired.
