Director of Finance needed to join a very well respected, stable organisation based in New York City.
An established, very well-respected organisation based in Long Island are looking to recruit a Director of Finance on a permanent basis. The Director of Finance will report to the CFO as well as a dotted line into the CEO. This position is a succession plan for the current CFO within the not-too-distant future, therefore, there is a clear progression path into a CFO role.
The business is a family run organization who have fast become a clear market leader within their field. Being family run, the firm do offer great flexibility and understand that in life, things can get in the way, so although the role will be office based, if you need time out of the day for appointments, children, family responsibilities, sports training etc then this is a given!
The Director of Finance will receive a salary between $200,000and $230,000 per annum dependent upon experience.
The key duties of the Director of Finance will include but will not be limited to:
– Supporting the CEO and CFO with the forward planning and strategic elements of finance.
– Controlling the businesses taxation compliances.
– Leading the company budgeting and forecasting duties.
– Preparation of company financial statements on a monthly basis.
– Analyze, interpret and report on company financials which will be presented to board.
– Business partner key stakeholders to provide meaningful and insightful financial reports to drive departmental performance.
– Manage the firms financial database and reporting platforms including upgrading and implementing systems when required.
– Own the businesses regulatory compliances in alignment with federal, state and industry regulations.
– Manage a team of Junior Accountants.
– Support the CFO and CEO with the annual busy period and close including tax and audit.
– Ad hoc duties when required.
The ideal Director of Finance will:
– Be CPA qualified with deep rooted knowledge of accounting, however candidate with experience but not CPA will be considered too!
– Have experience of implementing, improving, and driving processes and efficiencies.
– Have proven experience of working within a similar position.
– Be a strong leader and have previous management experience.
– Have sound working knowledge and understanding of finance systems and Excel.
– Be a strong team player.
– Be willing to commute to Long Island on a daily basis but with the understanding that flexibility is given.

Salary and Benefits
