Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance department, generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing financial data and assessing the financial health of the company. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, very experienced with Quickbooks, excellent attention to detail and general knowledge of regional laws/regulations pertaining to accounting and taxes. As a valuable member of our small but mighty finance team, candidate must have a positive attitude and commitment to the team’s success.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activity of the company, reviewing bank reconciliations, preparing payroll, paying accounts payable, and conducting month-end close
Oversee the development of the company’s finance department including creating, reviewing, and enforcing policies and internal control
Prepare and analyze various financial reports including budgets, forecasts, cash flow management/planning, and maintenance of debt schedules and partnership capital accounts
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
Advise/make recommendations to executive management on company financial decisions
Lead, train, develop, and manage the Finance department staff as well as conduct performance evaluations and assist in recruitment
Provide financial management support for miscellaneous projects
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), reporting standards, tax regulations, and healthcare industry standards
Ability to thoroughly understand and analyze company financial statements to make decisions and recommendations to effectively grow the company
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor
Strong computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and ability to quickly learn new technology platforms
Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently to prioritize and meet deadlines
Perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision
Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Active CPA license
5 years of experience in the accounting field
Healthcare experience a plus
