Responsibilities & Requirements:
Job Responsibilities
The Supervisor of Patient Financial Services (PFS) leads the team in the timely collection of accounts receivable with a focus on process improvement and patient satisfaction.
Staff Oversight
Supervises staff during daily operations, creating a positive environment which fosters staff engagement and teamwork
Recruits new staff members
Leads staff in establishing and achieving individual and departmental goals
Coordinates training of new and existing staff members, conducts ongoing evaluations of team and counsels accordingly
Record Keeping & Reports
Approves and manages staff timecards in a timely manner
Analyzes department data and adjusts staffing levels and/or processes to ensure efficient production
Monitors time off and over time for staff members and recommends short and long term planning and budgeting
Revenue Cycle Oversight
Verification of group and individual insurance benefits for patient estimates and collection of receivables
Insurance claims submission and follow up
Payment posting, account adjustments and reconciliation
Customer service, patient estimates, billing and collections
Communication
Collaborates with clinic, corporate and department leadership to provide superior customer service
Communicates with patients and payers regarding the accounts receivable
Works with Human Resources to consistently apply company policies
Job Requirements
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or five plus years of equivalent job experience. HS Diploma or equivalent is required
Most possess accounts receivable and/or insurance knowledge
Two plus years of previously supervisory experience is strongly preferred
