Position Purpose
The Director Digital Marketing leads and oversees all digital strategic planning and implementation efforts for Delicato’s Global Wine portfolio. This position will serve as the organization’s Digital Marketing thought-leader and have a clear understanding of the key digital marketing levers and mix (paid, earned, owned), including but not limited to search, social media, mobile applications, SEO/SEM strategies, display, DTC, three-tier e-commerce, Distributor e-commerce, and email. The Director Digital Marketing will lead with clear strategic vision, collaboration, adaptability, and a solution-oriented approach required to achieve Delicato’s business objectives and growth aspirations.
Functional Responsibility
- Oversees, directs, and manages departmental activities and team performance
- Drives and models company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions
- Develops and implements clearly defined operational and individual goals to develop employees, achieve productivity levels, and to attain the company’s strategic plan
- Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
- Executes departmental financial objectives by preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action
- Achieves departmental results to ensure the effective delivery of the strategic plan
- Develops staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
- Promotes and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
- Leads the way and prepares departmental staff for success in a continually changing environment
- Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
- Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
- Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
- Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
Essential Duties
- Within the three-year strategic planning cycle, the Digital Marketing Director organizes and leads the annual Digital Brand Planning process—bringing forth cutting-edge, results-oriented recommendations designed to achieve applicable business objectives
- Empowers and enables the Digital Marketing team via effective coaching, mentoring, and professional development
- Develops and manages the Digital Marketing annual operating budget, forecasting, and invoice management
- Oversees all digital media campaigns and omni-channel efforts, providing optimization recommendations based on quantitative campaign performance insights
- Proactively brings forth new ideas and innovative digital and three-tier e-commerce efforts designed to surpass established KPIs
- Supports the development and socialization of effective digital education tools and e-commerce assets which the Sales Organization can leverage to garner Trade support for our priority brand portfolio
- Nurtures relationships with external agency partners, and leads digital agency selections and recommendations (e.g. RFPs, service agreements, alignment to industry benchmarks, annual partner performance management)
- Ensures all social media programs and brand websites are in alignment with the overarching digital strategy
- Delivers industry-leading digital content and assets to key retailers and distributors
- Partners with Direct-to-Consumer teams to plan and implement effective DTC strategies designed to generate revenue and increase conversion rates

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Marketing, Digital Media or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
- 5-10 years of years of directly related experience; with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of digital marketing and three-tier e-commerce successes equally showcasing strategic, innovative, effective thinking
- In depth knowledge and experience with different online marketing tools, channels, and best practices
- Knowledge of web design and UX procedures
- Experience managing multiple agencies within different disciplines of digital marketing
- Wine Industry experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership skills to partner with internal and external resources to accomplish the goals set out by the company; ability to influence others and drive results through collaboration
- Must be proactive, curious, and confident in suggesting both new and different executions as well as incremental improvements on existing ones
- Ability to bring new and fresh thinking to help further instill the mindset of creating the best digital assets possible from the start, and ensuring systems are in place to enable the perpetual improvement of the performance of each of these assets
- Advanced understanding of the digital advertising landscape including programmatic, search, SEM and Connected TV
- Advanced understanding of branding, marketing, and advertising
- Possess a working understanding of related digital disciplines such as User Experience, Content Strategy & Creation, Production, etc.
- Technical knowledge and awareness, such as the strengths and limitations of HTML, mobile platforms and other emerging technologies
- Mastery of SEO/SEM strategies, tactics, and best practices; understanding of how to implement and leverage CRM programs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrable ability to articulate and persuasively sell strategic concepts within agency and directly to clients
- Strong skills in analytics and developing reporting models
- Strategic thinking; ability to craft the brief, lead ideation sessions, and strategically direct the work
- A self-starter, detail oriented, and results driven attitude
- Excellent planning, organization, communication, and presentation skills
- Advanced computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge of WordPress CMS platform a plus
Working Conditions
- General office environment with occasional travel
- Required to drive automotive vehicle or equipment
- Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
- Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine
- May need to determine color, taste and smell of wine using eyes, tongue, and nose
