The Datapeople team is looking for our first Finance leader to oversee our financial and business operations. You will help build a rigorous analytical process across the business to both our Go-To-Market functions as well as ensure cost discipline. This job is less about accounting and tax (although there is some of that) and more about helping a venture-backed startup incorporate data and analytical thinking across decision-making. You’ll help stand up different sub-departments including business operations and revenue operations. You’ll be involved in shaping our thinking on strategic and financial issues including pricing, capitalization, fundraising and GTM. You will report directly to our CEO.
This is a remote job and available to all candidates with work privileges currently residing in the United States.
You will:
Lead Datapeople’s financial planning and ongoing reporting processes including our annual budget and forecasting for important expense areas
Help lead strategic decision-making across the company
Build an operations and analytics team to support a hyper-scaling business
Analyze, report, and translate financial data and performance, giving guidance on opportunities and risks affecting business performance based on the interpreted results and variances
Support adherence and tracking around cash flow management and business expenditure
Manage internal controls, policies, and procedures around financial operations. Lead important initiatives to continuously improve and automate these processes
Work closely with the CEO to support creation of board and investor materials, fundraising, and due diligence processes
You have:
10+ years of finance and operational finance experience including leadership roles
Experience at venture-backed startups
Proficiency in SaaS-based operating models and experience supporting revenue and GTM operations of SaaS businesses
Expertise in accounting principles, processes, risks, and controls
Experience building and reviewing complex financial models and data sets, monitoring critical financial performance and providing actionable guidance to relevant partners
Experience managing maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance around all financial functions
