Databricks is looking for an excellent Finance Manager to join our FP&A team in our mission to help data teams solve the world’s toughest problems. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Strategic Finance & FP&A and working closely with the Professional Services team, you will help your partners be successful and achieve both top and bottom-line financial goals, grounded in financial reality through modeling and analysis. You will improve forecast reliability, enhance our reporting, improve processes, and plan the future of the business. You will be a strategic finance partner to the Professional Services organization, working directly with interrelated go-to-market teams (e.g. Field Engineering, Customer Success) and operational counterparts, becoming a trusted partner within finance and across the rest of Databricks.
The impact you will have:
Manage our global Services P&L, a unique opportunity to build integrated financial models that predict both revenue and expenses while developing an expertise in using model inputs including bookings, attach rates, and other levers
Partner with Professional Services’ regional leaders to manage the revenue capacity model, updating model drivers including bookings and hiring assumptions to report on projected delivery capacity
Forecast financial results within 2% accuracy, developing an understanding of Databricks’ business model to explain levers to any variances from expectations
Build the single source of truth for all Professional Services metrics, ensuring the evolution of strategic planning processes to help the business scale
Coordinate with Accounting & the Services Operations team to manage the month-end close process for Professional Services
Improve financial processes and implement system improvements & dashboards to support hyper-growth at scale, working with business partners to facilitate key initiatives
Prepare content for monthly & quarterly presentations to provide executive leadership with insights that promote top-line growth balanced with profitability, including updates on metrics
Work and build relationships with important partners across Professional Services operations, senior leaders, finance and accounting teams to improve important insights
What we look for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or comparable quantitative field
7+ years of FP&A, Finance, or related experience (e.g. Investment Banking, Management Consulting), with a focus on technology; familiarity with the software industry and SaaS business-models
Experience working with Sales, Professional Services, or other Go-To-Market organizations, managing complex budgets and building processes for scale
Experience with both top-line planning and managing margin businesses
Financial modeling skills and quantitative analysis experience
Expert in Excel and Google Sheets; can maintain complex spreadsheets, comfortable with different modeling techniques and shortcuts
Experience with GAAP (e.g. revenue recognition and carve-outs) and non-GAAP financial metrics; experience with SQL is a major plus
High competency with key systems including Anaplan, Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, or Workday
High financial acumen with the ability to apply professional skepticism in a collaborative way
Ability to partner cross-functionally and find solutions
