Job Description: Product Marketing Communications Specialist,
Marketing Communications Specialist 3 (Contract Employee)

12-month contract remote position targeting Eastern or midwestern time zone candidates

client seeks an experienced and collaborative communications specialist to help promote our laboratory diagnostics products. Proven accomplishments in digital marketing communications, marketing, and/or agency account management—along with excellent written and oral communications skills—are required; healthcare background, business-to-business and global experience are desirable.

The global product marketing communications specialist will work closely with the business development, product management and digital engagement teams to drive the development and execution of communication plans, messaging, and collateral for our laboratory diagnostics products, specifically hemostasis and hematology analyzers and consumables.

General Requirements

This individual will be responsible for:

• Closely collaborating with global product and communication managers located in the U.S. and Europe to understand business needs and recommend the most effective communications strategies
• Implementing strategic communication initiatives in conjunction with communication managers
• Reviewing, updating, and maintaining materials to support key product and/or solution selling campaigns with a focus on key assets (brochures, white papers, case studies), web-based awareness and lead-generation programs, including search engine optimization, search engine advertising, organic and paid social media posts, webpage development, and eblasts
• Integrating product messaging into new and existing collateral
• Routing content through multifunctional approval process to ensure content is in alignment with approved claims; lead conversations to gain alignment when questions arise; ensure proper electronic record keeping for audit trail purposes
• Creating and managing websites using Scrivito, our web content management system (CMS)
• Working side-by-side with our internal creative services group, outside agencies, and other vendors to execute various communications initiatives
• Developing timelines and managing projects from creative direction and development to legal and regulatory approval to production
• Coordinating the distribution of approved content and sales collateral to country marketing/sales/communications teams via proper internal channels
• Analyzing quality and effectiveness of marketing communication initiatives—and presenting metrics-based recommendations for plan improvement
• Managing the respective communications budget provided by the product management team and ensuring that expenses are within budget

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, advertising, or related area required.

Knowledge and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a proven track record of accomplishments in marketing/marketing communications/advertising/business management
• Demonstrated mastery of multiple business communications disciplines, including integrated campaign development, sales force communications, advertising, and digital marketing
• Experience with web CMS, specifically Scrivito, is highly desirable
• Excellent English language skills; including very strong oral and written communication, grammar, proofreading, and editing abilities—with a high level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to provide well-thought-out direction and feedback to creative teams
• Strong project management skills, including development of timelines and communication of project status
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently—from concept and strategy development through tactical execution
