Members of the Dean’s Office staff work in direct support of the College Dean who provides Academic and Administrative leadership and oversight to the entire College. Members of the Dean’s administrative team conduct business across multiple departments and units, and work closely with many central university offices including the Provost, Communications, Facilities, Finance, and Human Resources groups.
What you will do:
This role will serve in a leadership role as a Finance Specialist in the College of Engineering to support college-wide activities in financial planning, analysis and reporting. Develop complex financial analyses and forecasts for deans and directors in support of short and long range unit initiatives. Provide planning files and act as liaison between central administration, operating units, academic department and university budget office. In collaboration with Director of Budget & Finance complete the annual college budget process and year-end closing processes. Position oversees the financial operations of Dean’s Administration, Duffield and Facilities program funding to provide efficient and effective financial transaction processing and accounting. Manage post sponsored program activity for the Dean and Diversity Offices with over $1.5M in sponsored program activity. Ensures that internal controls are developed, monitored and maintained. Support fiscal management throughout the college by providing expertise in interpreting and applying University policies and procedures and make recommendations for best practices to address complex business problems and to meet strategic and operational objectives. Participate in the College Lead Finance group to share expertise, develop best practices and communicate new knowledge to College constituents. Facilitate financial leads meetings, propose agenda and follow up with notes/action steps with the group. Act on behalf of Director of Budget and Finance in Director’s absence.
