High Level Responsibilities:

• Provides functional direction on the administration of federal, state, and local tax controls. Perform and ensures that tax remittances are accurate and timely and in compliance with the federal, state, and local tax laws and requirements.
• Provide a thorough knowledge of interpreting and applying tax laws and regulations impacting the company. Provide recommendations and is influential in the application of tax laws that have a major financial impact on the company.
• Oversee the workflow and deliverable of multiple tax engagements including the segmentation and delegation of complex returns to staff.
• Client meetings and obtain needed information.
• Actively participate in the development of tax strategies that minimize a client’s tax liability.
• Liable for level 1 audit representation.
• Research complex tax issues, advise and make recommendations based on findings.
• Perform or review tax projections, structuring and modeling.
• Responsible for reviewing level 1 (1040) and Level 2 (1120/1120s/1065).
• Accountable for preparing level 3 returns (990/1041/706).
• Lead, manage and accountable for staff level training and teambuilding.
• Inspire, motivate, and hold teammates accountable.
• Communicate effectively with senior and subordinate staff as to status of work, deadlines, budgets, and client satisfaction.
• Maintain highest standards of ethics and confidentiality with clients while building a relationship with them as a business resource.
• Ensure client satisfaction.

What are the Minimum Requirements?

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master’s in Taxation, Accounting, or Business Strongly preferred
• CPA or EA certification is required
• 5+ years’ experience in Taxation to include the areas of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, required
• 2+ years’ Experience leading and managing staff, required
• Timely and current knowledge of tax law and filing requirements
• Experience managing, directing, reviewing, and monitoring multiple engagements
• Experience or comparable experience with QuickBooks, Lacerte, Smart Vault, CCH a plus
