Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns, consultants, contractors and temporary employees; identify strategies to fill open positions, directly lead management on pre and post hire activities, determine offer recommendations and obtain appropriate approvals and ensure new-employee orientations are arranged and completed.
Develop strategies with management on Company-wide training; ensure appropriate training is identified and conducted, responsibility for training programs and records, and participates in customer and ISO audits throughout the year.
Implement and annually update compensation programs; rewrite job descriptions as necessary; conduct salary surveys and develop merit pool data; analyze compensation; monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
Responsible for employee relations counseling and resolution; advise and recommend to management and employees resolutions to issues that focus on team collaboration and success of department and company goals while mindful of state and federal employee and employer rights and obligations.
Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures; perform health benefits administration to include difficult claims resolution, annual re-evaluation of group health policies for cost effectiveness, collaboration with insurance broker on presenting yearly health plans to employees and ensure an accurate benefit renewal is completed within strict timelines.
Develop and maintain compliance programs; affirmative action, EEO-1, OSHA 300, VET-100 and ITAR.
Plan, organize, and control all activities of the department. Participate in developing department goals, budgets, objectives, and systems.
First point of contact for accidents, incidents and worker’s compensation claims; leads initiatives with management on issue review and resolution.
Responsible for the Human Resources Department; mentor and direct the activities of the personnel; including payroll function, benefit questions and administration, event activities, NDA requirements, receptionist activities, conference room coordination, etc.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of human resources department and services performed.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business or equivalent experience
7+ years’ Human Resources generalist experience; hiring, compensation, benefits, employee relations, conflict resolution, legal compliance, performance management, workers’ compensation, change management, human resources policy development, interpretation and implementation
Experience developing Company human resources strategies and implementing comprehensive human resource policies and procedures across all departments
Strong understanding of how human resources can best serve the business by being a strategic partner with business leaders by developing meaningful relationships and use influence to encourage change
Ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects within a fast pace environment
Ability to build solid relationship with internal and external customers addressing their needs and meeting or exceeding expectations
Ability to identify and define problems and develop or assist others in the resolution of issues
Ability to maintain and protect confidentiality; ability to work well with others and treat others with dignity and respect
Proficiency in MS Office applications with the ability to learn proprietary database systems
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification preferred
