SUMMARY
The Production Manager is accountable for developing and leading an environment of operational excellence, evidenced but continual improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The Production Manager must have the ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization. Develop comprehensive strategic operating plans and world class operations organization and standardization processes in Machining, Assembly and the Maintenance Departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Supports Lean initiatives that are driven by the Continuous Improvement Manager – Examples of these include: 5S, Standard Work, Variation Reduction, Visual Management, Daily Management, Kanban and CI program
· Accountable for overseeing the daily production demand for time, material, and labor
· Key Performance Indicators include Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (Customer Satisfaction)
· Administers company policies and procedures fairly and consistently within the department.
· Will track key performance indicators such as safety, quality, cost, productivity, customer satisfaction OEE ,rework, yield etc.
· Will work closely with Human Resource Manager to determine openings and timing to fill the openings as well as attendance, vacation, disciplinary issues etc.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree and/or production management experience.
· Minimum of 10-years’ experience in leading a production floor environment of at least 75 people
· Must be across multiple functional areas and across multi-shift operation
· Must include having direct reports at a supervisor level
· Experience in disciplinary action coaching/mentoring and training
· Understanding of employment law compliance issues
· A demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate people and get results through others
· A strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and techniques
· A demonstrated ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement
· Able to create and manage high performance teams and to be a strong team player
· Commitment to the Company’s purpose, Core Values and objectives
· Capable of leading, directing and working with cross functional groups and employees
· Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standards exist. Must be able to interpret oral, written and diagram instructions
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
· Great attention to detail
· Ability to read, write and communicate in English, Spanish is a plus
· Should always lead by example, and show the positive attributes of a strong leader
