Fleet Asset Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the management, procurement, valuation, and disposition of a company’s vehicles, equipment, tooling, and related data, and documents.
· Keep records, create reports, and implement software/technology to track maintenance, repairs, financial impacts (ROI, parts costs, projections, labor costs, third party expenses, etc.), and safety related information.
· Preferred applicant would possess mechanical knowledge to manage estimation of repair times, communicate effectively during procurement/sale of assets, and create solutions for the safety of our employees.
· Preferred applicant would have financial related knowledge of heavy equipment and trucks specifically that equipment used in the electric utility industry.
· Communicate and disseminate information with vehicle and equipment operators, supervisors, and operations management.
· Communicate and delegate responsibilities with mechanics and administrative staff that would they would regularly work with.
· Have financial competency, experience and/or knowledge to review financial info related to vehicle and equipment assets. Having involvement in making procurement decisions, related to lease/rental/purchase.
· Maintain communication and relationships vendors, suppliers, 3rdparty repair and maintenance businesses and contractors.
· Take part in maintenance and repair of assets, diagnose mechanical issues, manage parts inventory, and charge parts and labor to work orders, and manage those responsible for these tasks.
· Delegate priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements of scheduled operations
· Ensure that all assets are in safe working condition, have up to date applicable inspections and tests, PMs,
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of offices and property related to this position.
· Work with Safety department to develop and implement safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe working environment for the shops, yards, and other areas/service equipment related to the position.
· Participates in the development and administration of the operational budget for a department.
· Perform or manage research and due diligence on new and used asset purchases.
Position Requirements
· Proficient with Excel, Word, and other MS Office software.
· Proficient with computers and commonly used business software.
· Have valid Driver License. CDL Class A is preferred
· Be able to bend, squat, stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., and periodically perform typical physical tasks related to the inspection of vehicles and equipment.
· Must be able to work in adverse (hot/cold/rain) weather conditions outside peridoically.
· Have capability to occasionally travel away from home for up to 3 days.
· Preferred applicant has experience in purchasing/procurement and managerial experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
