Organization Overview
CAPP ensures individuals’ dignity while reducing poverty, revitalizing communities, and empowering low-income individuals and families to become self-sufficient. We do this by creating economic, educational, and other opportunities and providing a wide range of programs and services that drives real change. CAPP mobilizes resources to eliminate poverty and educate the public on poverty and community revitalization issues.
Job Purpose: Oversee and provide leadership on all the organization’s accounting, financial reporting, planning, practices, budgeting, audit, and tax functions. Coordinate and manage the work of Finance Department staff in collecting, summarizing, and interpreting financial data for the use of management. Ensure appropriate internal controls and that accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting practices. Ensure timely monthly/quarterly/annual financial and statistical reports to management and/or Board of Directors.

Job Duties:
· Directs and coordinates organizations’ financial planning, budget management, cost controls, and accounting practices.
· Oversees the annual budget process, audit, and 990 collaboration with external auditors
· Support payroll functions for the organization
· Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
· Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
· Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
· Oversee daily operations of the finance department staff and maintain job results by coaching and counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
· Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.
· Manage the preparation of financial forecasts.
· Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
· Work with CEO to develop 3-5-year financial plans for the organization.
· Review and approve journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Ensure that accounts payable are paid on time and that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
· Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments.
· Oversee the month/ year-end closes.
· Ensure proper grants system coding and maintain a chart of accounts.
· Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the President & CEO.
· Review and analyze financial statements and budget to actual results with President & CEO.
· Oversee all audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
· Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, policies, and operating procedures.
· Attend departmental and board meetings and serve on planning and policy-making committees as required.
· Performs other related duties as required. Other duties may include the maintenance of relationships with vendors, financial institutions, and the non-profit community.
· Provide budget management support and guidance to senior leadership as requested.

Education and Experience:
· 6+ years of senior-level finance or accounting position
· Non-profit experience required
· Master’s Degree preferred in Finance or Accounting; CPA highly desired
· Blackbaud Financial Edge experience is highly desired

Pay: $80,000.00 – $89,000.00 per year
