Job Summary
The Director, Finance will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department supporting Techinical Operations. They will lead the development and execution of strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term financial and operational targets. This role will also be responsible for collaborating with the division’s technology operations and regional teams to create and manage strategic plans, forecasts, and budgets. Additionally, the Director of Finance will provide leadership to their staff ensuring financial integrity and driving operational excellence. They will also be responsible for measuring and monitoring performance to achieve desired outcomes.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Owns the preparation and review of monthly operating financial statements, forecasts, monthly variance analysis, and budget data with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Monitors and influences key operational metrics to optimize efficiency and drive financial results by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase profitability.
Reviews financial statements to ensure accuracy and integrity, proactively identifying and explaining any variances to plan and forecast. They will also work closely with other departments to develop corrective actions to improve performance.
Analyzes all aspects of financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement, using data-driven insights to find opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
Leads the business planning cycle for designated functional area(s) by directing the preparation of forecasts and budgets, ensuring they are aligned with strategic goals and objectives. They will also collaborate with department heads to develop long-term financial plans.
Ensures that all Finance department policies and procedures are implemented and monitors for adherence, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary
Provides motivation, direction, and leadership for the Finance team, encouraging a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. They will also ensure that the team adheres to the policies and standards of the Company and strive to achieve financial excellence.
Performs additional Business Operations duties and tasks as, required.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as needed.
