Clayton Services is searching for a Finance Manager to join a thriving company in the Houston area. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the non-profit’s entire bookkeeping and accounting department functions.

Pay Rate : $31.00 – $33.00 / hour
Finance Manager Responsibilities :
Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
Oversee and manage the daily bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
Ensure accuracy in accounting data, including accounts payable and receivable, and evaluate accounting functions.
Aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Analyze revenue and expenditure variances to optimize operational efficiency.
Document outcomes and provide recommendations to management.
Handle bi-monthly payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll and pension procedures.
Monitor and administer HR procedures, particularly pension plans.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Coordinate and assist with annual financial audits.
Conduct internal audits to improve accounting procedures.
Analyze accounting data to generate financial reports for management.
Manage contracts and cost allocations to appropriate centers.
Monitor contract utilization and communicate outcomes to management.
Ensure financial compliance with contracts and regulations.
Recommend improvements to standards and procedures.
Maintain contract and lease timelines.
Provide internal resources for risk management and best practices.
Assist the Executive Director in developing and analyzing the annual budget.
Stay updated on nonprofit management, accounting, payroll, and HR trends.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Finance Manager Skills and Abilities :

Demonstrate self-motivation and perseverance to achieve goals
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Excel and Outlook calendar.
Finance Manager Education and Experience :
A Bachelor’s Degree is required or at least five years of relevant working experience.
3+ years of accounting experience.
1+ year of payroll management experience.
Must have experience working in the non-profit sector with specific knowledge in 501 c3 tax reporting and federal, state, and local reporting.
