Summary of Position
This position is responsible for leading the Company’s annual budget process and tracking performance against key metrics throughout the year. This leader works collaboratively with Accounting, Operations and Management to drive performance through enhancing transparency with data-driven analysis and standardized reporting packages. This role is responsible for delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis to executive team, including capital, production, operational expenditure, and depreciation, depletion, and amortization expenses.
Title and compensation will be based on candidate’s level of experience and the Company’s discretion.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinates annual budget process and prepares reporting packages that track results and provide insight into the Company’s overall performance
Leads monthly reforecast process and variance analysis and works proactively with Operations and Accounting to identify and resolve complex issues.
Maintains G&A forecast, working with process owners by account.
Supports Management, Investor Relations and Finance teams as needed.
Works closely with Accounting to understand operational results on various financial statements.
Makes recommendations for annual guidance and performance vs guidance throughout the year.
Develops or analyzes information to assess the current or future financial status of Company and peers.
Develops standardized reporting, forecasting, modeling tools for the organization.
Establishes objectives and standards of performance for staff with a focus on continuous improvement in process, tools and efficiency.
Coaches, motivates, and develops junior staff to improve their skills to fulfill their job requirements.
Knowledge & Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
Strong Accounting knowledge, including how to read financial statements
Strong organizational skills with significant attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
Must be willing to participate in a team environment
Strong initiative and ability to work independently
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
Significant financial planning or accounting experience with Oil and Gas companies.
