The City of Willoughby Hills is accepting resumes for the position of FINANCE DIRECTOR. The Finance Director is appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation of City Council. The Finance Director serves as the Citys chief fiscal officer and is responsible for overseeing compliant financial operations of the City including budgetary, accounts payable, receivable and financial reporting. The Finance Director is charged with the oversight and strategic management of a $7.5 million General Fund Budget and an overall total budget of $23.6 million. The Finance Director assists the Mayor in the development of the Citys annual operating and capital budgets as well as serving as a resource to the Citys department heads and supervises two employees.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting. Progressively responsible public experience in governmental or public accounting equivalent is a plus. Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Governmental accounting standards and best practices, personnel practices, employee training and development, management, delegation, supervision, organizational policies and procedures, organizational goals and objectives, records preparation and management, public relations, budgeting, accounting, and data processing techniques and procedures.
