Under the direction of the City Manager, this employee provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of city operations, city finance, budgeting, and development functions. This employee also provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of city finance, budgeting, and development functions. This employee also provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of intake, processing, and resolution of constituent inquiries regarding city operations and requests or inquiries from members of council. Employee may also be involved in special projects or other Council or City Manager directed initiatives, coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies, and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager. The Assistant City Manager shall perform such other duties of the office as may be assigned at any time by the City Manager. This position is unclassified in accordance with the City of Cincinnati Charter and Civil Service Rules.

Required Education and Experience
Each applicant must have eight years responsible experience in public administration, governmental financial management, or a closely related field, with four years of supervisory responsibility. Additionally, each applicant must have the equivalent to a Master’s degree from an accredited institution with major course work in public administration, finance, management, or a closely related field. Must be a City of Cincinnati resident at the time of appointment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator and team builder.
Must be available in case of emergencies and to coordinate responses with departments and staff on irregular schedules

Environmental Conditions: Predominately indoor environments; exposure to computer screens; attendance at outdoor functions may be required.
Physical Conditions: Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; must be able to operate assigned vehicle.
