The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to manage professional team(s)/department(s) and apply analytical thinking/knowledge of data analysis methodologies to create and analyze reports that gauge Citi’s alignment with forecasted performance.
Responsibilities:
Drive forward looking processes including annual budget plan, monthly outlooks, and multi-year strategic plans as well as drive transformation and strategy agenda
Oversee staff within the relevant infrastructure area as well as direct and control strategy and execution of firm activities within a major infrastructure area
Oversee functional team responsible for performance reporting and forward-looking processes such as analysis of quarter end flash estimates, creating variance analysis, and commentary for senior management
Design new or re-engineer existing financial or business processes to drive centralization and standardization of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities based on global common standards
Drive content and standards for management review processes including quarterly CEO and CFO business reviews
Utilize knowledge of quantitative analysis to develop firm-wide data and analytics requirements and ensure business and FP&A have information to support performance management processes aligned to strategic plans
Prepare and present financial presentations for senior management and other stakeholders that drive business decisions as well as partner with front office businesses or functional areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and/or controls
Manage a functional team to perform analysis of the financial performance of Citi and its competitors
Lead analytics for quarter end flash results and related highlights, the board of director reports, and executive management reports
Recommend goals, policies, and plans for areas with senior executives of the firm
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience
10+ years of managerial experience
Experience leading functional teams and driving Financial Planning and Analysis
Demonstrated experience with quantitative analysis, financial analysis across retail and investment banking products, performance analysis, project management of financial planning projects, developing data reporting, and analytics processes for financial services industry
Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
