Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the accounting and reporting related to technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition and defined benefit pension plans, participating in the preparation and review of the Company’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, and the internal reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review customer contracts and perform analysis to provide recommendations for the treatment of revenue recognition under ASC 606 guidelines. This includes the evaluation of impacts to CF’s revenue recognition and communication of key risks to management.
• Act as one of two Senior Financial Reporting Analysts responsible for accounting and reporting for the Company’s pension and post-retirement benefits, including account analysis and coordination of information with CF’s employee benefits department, actuaries, and plan trustees.
• Participate in the stand-alone financial statement audits of the U.S. and Canadian pension and 401(k) plans.
• Coordinate and prepare presentations for the communication of CF’s financial performance to management and the Board of Directors, which includes a comparison of the most recent month, quarter and year-to-date results against prior year, plan, and projection.
• Serve as a key technical accounting resource in the review and evaluation of new and unusual business transactions to determine the appropriate accounting treatment in compliance with U.S. GAAP and preparation of whitepapers supporting accounting conclusions.
• Support environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting, assisting with the preparation of the tie-out and support for the annual sustainability report.
• Participate in the preparation of complex financial statement footnotes in SEC filings related to the areas of focus stated above in compliance with the SEC and FASB requirements.
• Assist with the completion of the tie-out of the financial and other information within the quarterly earnings release and investor call materials.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors in the execution of their review of internal controls and audit procedures related to the areas of focus stated above.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and requirements. Assist in the preparation of Company-wide accounting and finance policies, including the revision of existing policies and creation of new policies as new accounting standards are adapted.
• Support other special projects and initiatives within the Company.

Successful incumbents will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Technical knowledge in accounting and internal controls: must possess a solid degree of technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting;
• Knowledge of ASC Topics 606, 715, 820 and 842 a plus.
• 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in private industry, including experience in technical accounting and/or financial reporting.
• Some experience in public accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of FASB and SEC rules and regulations, and the ability to apply business and financial concepts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
