Job Summary:
This tax leadership role works across the tax function to lead and direct the Company’s tax compliance, controversy, international, and technology efforts and to assist in external reporting. The role is designed to work closely with the Vice President – Tax to lead the existing team into the future by continuously improving process and procedures to gain efficiencies and leverage.
The Director – Tax, will be responsible for all aspects of tax law analysis and planning and tax minimization and reduction. The role will work closely with the Director – Tax Accounting to report all aspects of income taxes and indirect taxes in CF’s annual and interim financial statements. The Director will lead the tax compliance team with compliance matters, income tax reporting and the review of corporate tax returns. The Director will manage IRS, state and local, and foreign income tax audits and examinations. The primary responsibility will be the tax compliance and planning for income taxes for the Company’s U.S. and international operations and the secondary responsibility will be the preparation of the interim and annual income tax provisions for domestic and international operations.

Internal Controls:
Works closely with the tax accounting team to establish and implement processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. Ensures that established processes and procedures are followed as designed. Works with Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies in existing processes and procedures, the need for new ones, and the extent to which such processes and procedures are being followed. Develops and implements corrective actions with regard to department internal controls as necessary.

This role routinely interacts with internal and external constituents and represents CF’s Tax Department. Occasionally, travel to various Company facilities and professional education and training programs may be required.
Management of the tax staff requires coordination of major responsibilities of the group. Time constraints can be demanding and require significant planning, organizing, directing and controlling of people, events, and resources.
